EGSC Lunch Time Talk was hold successfully


At the noon of 20th May 2011 EGSC organized their first Lunch time workshop. Jin Dayu for ISE who is also the treasurer of the council was the speaker. In total 31 graduate students from 8 departments joined the talk in addition to the EGSC committee members. During the talk the speaker brief but comprehensively presented several tips regarding efficient research techniques. At the end of the talk the attendees enjoyed light refreshment while they mingled with their peers. They provided generally positive feedback and many of them suggested new topics for future talks. EGSC expects to get in touch with new members through such talks. In future EGSC will continue to organise such talks for the benefit of graduate students as the motto of these events is “By the students for the students”.

Engineering Graduate Student Council (EGSC) is a student group which strives to create a vibrant research environment for all engineering graduate students. There exists a bunch of software that helps to enhance research efficiency. Despite their usefulness, they are
surprisingly under-utilized by most graduate students. This hands-on workshop will help the participants, regardless of departments and subjects, understand the value of these software and gain some experiences.

The 30-minute lecture will cover topics of,

>>Reference management
>>Schedule organizing
>>File management

Refreshments will be provided.

Workshop is open to NUS Engineering Graduate Students only.
